Pool PARTY

Tonight was the Dyersville Library's summer pool party for the summer reading program! I'm HAPPY to say.....BOTH GIRLS LOVED THE POOL TONIGHT!!!!!

We thought we might stay an hour, since we already had a busy day at the fair....but we were wrong! We knew Kelly would LOVE the pool, but we weren't sure about Miss Molly. But...Molly decided she LIKED the pool tonight! She went in the deep water with me without a death grip around my neck! She also LOVED the water slide and kept saying "AGAIN!" I think we went down about 20 times! She played in the kiddie area and didn't care that her face was getting splashed! She was a totally different girl in the pool tonight! There is hope for my second child after all! :)

My two girls....loving the water just like their Mom!
Kelly went down the water slide A LOT.....at least 10 more times than what Molly & I did!
She also jumped off the diving board a lot too! She is so good about swimming to the ladder....she makes me smile!
The first time Molly is in the water with me that she doesn't have a death grip hold!
She's SMILING!
She LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the water slide!
I held her up at the end so she didn't go completely under water....look at her smile!!!
Daddy & Molly going under the mushroom!
Daddy & Molly all smiles!
Daddy playing with the girls in the kiddie area.
Stepping on water fountains...
...Molly playing in the water fountain...
...stepping on it...
...and putting her bottom on it!
(She would never even go close to these before tonight!)

What a fun night at the pool!

Dubuque County Fair

You gotta love a fun-filled family afternoon!!!

What makes it even better.....we only spent $10 for 5 hours of entertainment!!!

Brian and I took the girls to the fair today. We had been debating all week whether we should go. We didn't want to spend a lot of money...but we knew the girls would love it! When we got free admission tickets for the last day of the fair....we decided to go! We went early (9:30am) and got a great parking spot and the girls were able to see a lot of animals with little crowds!
The girls enjoyed seeing all the animals.....especially the rabbits!
Up next....a kids scavenger hunt at 10am in the big tent. Kelly LOVED the scavenger hunt....Molly didn't really finish. Molly received a participation ribbon and Kelly WON her age group. She finished the scavenger hunt of 15 items in 14 minutes!!!! (They gave you 45 minutes to complete). Kelly was lucky because one of the ladies she asked for an item wanted to help her out....and she helped her find 7 items on her list!!! Kelly won a $10 gift card to Jumpin Janes!!!
After the scavenger hunt the girls got air-brushed tattoos! We received the early bird special and only paid $2.50 each since the girls BOTH wanted GLITTER!
($5.00 of our total spent for the day!)
Kelly - a princess
Molly - a unicorn
Right next to the tattoo place was Matt's Family Jam music session. We joined it late when there was only about 10 minutes left for them to perform. Both girls loved playing instruments and hula-hooping with the family. Kelly was SAD when they were finished. There next performance was at 1:30pm and we didn't think we would still be at the fair at that time.
(Little did we know the girls were great and we finished our family fun-filled afternoon with a full jam session!)
Kelly showing off her hula-hooping skills!
Molly playing the maracas.
Then we were off to the tiger show.....this was Kelly's favorite tiger!
A tiger jumping through a hoop!
This tiger was walking on a tight rope.....this picture doesn't show how amazing that was.
The girls were able to pick TWO rides to go on! (The other $5.00 we spent)
This elephant ride was their FAVORITE!!!
Molly especially loved when it when high in the sky!
All SMILES after riding on the elephant!
Second ride....cruising in the purple car!
There were LOTS of buttons to play with in the car! :)
The next activity in the big tent at noon....making a sand art key chain!
The girls showing off their sand key chain creations.
(Kelly was VERY PROUD of her RIBBON she won for the scavenger hunt!!!)
...if you haven't noticed that it is in ALL the pictures!!!
(Yes, Molly is NOT wearing her glasses.....she switched from glasses to sunglasses all day and this was the in-between time while Brian went to get her glasses from the stroller.)
Daddy watching his favorite part of the day....the demo derby. Kelly wasn't quite sure about the loud cars!!!
She ended up covering her ears the rest of the time.....while holding her ribbon!
We ran into Tami and the girls after we ate lunch and Kelly invited them to the Matt's Family Jam Session while Daddy went back to watch more of the demo derby.
Kelly, Molly, & Racquel playing instruments while Helena plays the drums in the back.
Molly & Racquel rocking the drums!
Hula-Hoop time!
Thanks to Matt's Family Jam for a fun-filled time for the kids!!!
(Kelly said it was her FAVORITE PART!!!!!)

It was a great afternoon at the Dubuque County Fair!!!

Great-Grandma

The girls and I had a short visit with Great-Grandma Murray at Happy Joe's! She was able to see the girls play a few games....and we all enjoyed an ice cream sundae! The girls were really excited about going to Happy Joe's in Cedar Rapids.....because it is a BIG one with LOTS of games! We have been saving all our tickets from the Dyersville Happy Joe's for a couple years!!! The girls were happy with the prizes they picked!!!

** Molly - Smurfette Stuffed Animal
** Kelly - Princess Tiara, Princess Wand, and fun whistle

Nebel Visit

My aunt and cousins from Arizona were in town for the weekend....on the way home from our family vacation. We were able to spend Friday afternoon/evening with them and most of the day on Saturday too. We ate dinner at Shot Tower and the kids got to play at the Asbury Park. On Saturday afternoon we took the kids to Jumpin Janes...followed by lots of playing at Grandma Peggy's house. Kelly and Ember get along great.....and Molly and Emeri even played together a little bit too! We wish the Nebel family lived closer and we were able to see them more than once a year!
