Daddy Day

Happy Father's Day to all the DADS out there!

We had a nice, relaxing day!

Brian wanted to spend the morning just relaxing at home. It was nice for a change....all of us at home together....not really doing anything. It was fun! We headed to Dubuque in the afternoon and went to Eagle Point Park. We fed the fish, looked at the river, and the girls played for awhile. Then is was dinner at Los Aztecas! It was a perfect family day! Happy Father's Day, Brian! WE ALL LOVE YOU!

Molly picked out a Scooby Doo card which read:

"Dad, you're a lot like Scooby-Doo! You're brave! You're smart! (You eat lots, too!) There's not a thing that you can't do!"

Kelly made a card with me on Shutterfly's website. We picked out pictures of Kelly & Daddy together and she was able to tell me the TOP 5 reasons her Dad is the best! Here's what the card says...

5: You let me help you build stuff.

3: You help me find lots and lots of worms!

2: You come to my programs and field trips.

#1: You turn on the TV and warm up my Mommy Juice in the morning!

Have I told you lately how LUCKY we are to have AMAZING neighbors!?!?!?

Well.....we are!

Our kids get along great!

Normally Logan (6) & Kelly (5) play together while Lexi (4) & Molly (2.5) play too.

Logan was gone for part of the day with his Dad earlier this week.....so Kelly and Lexi decided to be girly!!! They each brought our their make-up (Kelly got her little make-up from her friend Reese for her birthday and Lexi got hers for Christmas). They looked "like beautiful princesses!" They even put make-up on Molly. When Logan got home....Kelly was off and running with him....and Lexi and Molly got A TON of babies out! It works out great....and ALL four of the kids get along!!!!

We went to Happy Joe's tonight for our traditional birthday dinner! We started when Kelly was ONE....as she got her first clown sundae. Here she is with NUMBER 5! Happy Birthday (one last time) Miss Kelly Marie! We love you!

Kelly's special day FINALLY arrived today! I have had one ExCiTeD little girl....as she has been waiting and counting down the days for her first FRIEND birthday party! We did a lot of things in 4 hours.....played limbo, pin the nose on Tinkerbell, the grand prize game, ate lunch, broke open a pinata, did a craft project, sang Happy Birthday, ate cupcakes & ice cream, opened presents, played with presents, and took lots of pictures! Kelly LOVED her first friend party! She is one special little girl....I hope she realizes that someday!

Kelly is now OFFICIALLY FIVE! Today is her "real" birthday! Although we have been celebrating off and on for almost a week....today is her special day!

Playdate with REESE

On Tuesday, Kelly had a playdate with her friend Reese at our house. She was one of the five friends Kelly picked to come to her friend birthday party. Unfortunately, Reese was going to be out of town for the weekend....so she can't come to her friend party. I gave Kelly the option of inviting another friend, but she decided she didn't want to. (We had already done favor bags....and Kelly wanted Reese to have all the fun "stuff"!)

**Sidenote......below is what Reese's Mom e-mailed me....

I feel terrible that Reese cannot make Kelly's birthday party. If it makes Kelly feel any better, Reese was willing to forego Adventureland and staying w/ her cousins all week to be able to make Kelly's party. To quote, "Mom, I KNOW Kelly's mom will just let me stay at her house all week until you guys get back. PLEASE! It's not fair. I want to go to Kelly's birthday party!"

Anyway, the two girls had a great day together. Kelly gave Reese all her party favors and the craft we are going to do tomorrow too. We will miss Reese....but they had a fun day on Tuesday!

America's River Festival

We went to America's River Festival in Dubuque with the Mulgrew family on Sunday....since they were in town for Kelly's birthday party. The kids had a great time! (...and we only spent $4.00 for two hours of entertainment and fun!) We watched the Dock Dogs, met Scooby Doo, saw Lightening McQueen, and ate free cupcakes! The kids were able to go in a few bounce houses/slides and they got some crafts, stickers, stencils, and balloons too! It was a fun afternoon!

Molly went right up to Scooby Doo and gave him a BIG HUG!

(Then she ran right back to me....and said "Mommy....Scooby BIG!!!!!!!!)

After she got over the fact that Scooby was BIG....she went back up to him and showed him her Scooby Doo stuffed animal. Scooby petted Molly's stuffed animal Scooby! Molly thought that was cute!
