Trick-or-Treat

Kelly and Molly BOTH wanted to be Monster High girls for Halloween this year.....and we went trick-or-treating with some cousins and friends that were Monster High Girls too.  It was a little cold this year on Halloween.....but that didn't stop the girls from getting a lot of goodies!

Carving Pumpkins

Brian carved pumpkins with the girls tonight while I was coaching. Kelly LOVED it and jumped right in.......while Molly really didn't want anything to do with it.....so she just bedazzled her little pumpkins instead!

Kelly's 2nd Grade Field Trip

Kelly had her first field trip of 2nd grade today - at the Osborne Nature Center in Waterloo, IA.  It was a little chilly....but it didn't rain!  Kelly said she had a great time!!!!!  Here are a couple pictures from another Mom, since I didn't attend the field trip.

Girl Scout Halloween Party

This afternoon was the Dyersville Girl Scouts Halloween Party.  Kelly always enjoys all the games and Halloween activities....and of course dressing up too!  Next year, Molly will be able to join us at all of these Dyersville girl scout events too!

MVC Sophomore

We had our MVC Frosh/Soph meet in Cedar Falls today!  This is the second meet where I have tapered swimmers.  I have a very small group of younger swimmers this year....only 5 girls!

The girls standing are all tapered for this meet....where Carlie (sitting) is tapering for Districts next week.

Planetarium

The 6th grade Dyersville girl scout troop planned a trip to the Loras College Planetarium....and invited all the other Dyersville troops to attend.  Kelly and Kayla were the only second graders from our troop to attend.  It worked out great for Kelly and I.....as I was already on the Loras Campus coaching.....so Kelly was able to swim with my team and then we went up to the Planetarium to meet the other Dyersville girl scouts.  Kelly attended this Planetarium when she was in 4 year old preschool.....but she learned and understood a lot more tonight!  She was pretty excited to earn a Seeing Stars Patch too!!!

City Meet

I had my first group of tapered swimmers at our City Meet tonight!  Taper is always such a fun time of the season.....where you see all the hard work pay off with amazing time drops in the pool!

BreakOut Swim Clinic

Kelly and I attended the BreakOut Swim Clinic hosted by DASH.  Olympic Swimming Gold Medalist Matt Grevers and his wife Annie Grevers (formally Annie Chandler - an NCAA Division 1 Champion) were the speakers.  It was an amazing experience for any swimmer/coach......I hope someday Kelly realizes how awesome it was to meet and swim with such amazing Olympic swimmers at any age....and she was able to meet them when she was 7 years old!

Brownie Ghoul Scout Camp

Kelly went to Camp Little Cloud with some of her troop for the Brownie Ghoul Scout Camp!!!  I was at a swim meet, but some of the other Moms sent me pictures!  Love it!  Kelly had a great time!!!  They made a couple crafts, went on a haunted hay ride, made a creepy treat, had a costume contest, and explored Camp Little Cloud when it was decorated for Halloween!  Kelly had a great time and loves her Glow in the Dark patch to remember her Ghoul Scout Camp Experience!

We celebrated Ben and Daniel's birthdays at our house after Kelly's soccer tournament game.  The boys had an ANGRY BIRD theme....with a pinata too!

Soccer tournment

Kelly's soccer team has had a great season!  They went into the tournament ranked 3rd out of 14 teams for the 1st/2nd grade league.

**They played there first game on Thursday, October 10 and WON 9-1 which moved them into the top 8 teams.  There second game was Saturday, October 12.  They played the number 5 ranked team and the game ended TIED 4-4.  They went to a 5 minute overtime....and no one scored.....so they went into a shoot out.  After the shoot out....it was still TIED!!!!  So.....they went to a second shoot out.....in which they lost.  It was a hard end to a wonderful season....but both teams played awesome!  They had a wonderful season and Kelly has a lot of great memories!

The Mulgrew family came to celebrate Ben and Daniel's birthdays....so they watched Kelly's soccer tournament game too!  Kelly was excited to have her cousins at her game!

Grandparents Day

Kelly and Molly were SO LUCKY to have all SIX grandparents attend the Grandparents Day Celebration at Xavier today!!!  Molly doesn't go to school on Fridays....but she was still able to go to show off her classroom, etc. for Grandparents Day!
