Snow Fun!!!

This winter has been crazy....we have had two major snow storms....followed by bitterly cold weather....which means the kids not really getting to play in the snow.  This last storm was different, although it was a much smaller storm!

The kids played all afternoon!!!!
 It started with soccer.....

Happy Valentine's Day!

Our Valentine's Day didn't start off quite as planned.....as Kelly woke up at 5am crying because her right ear hurt!
Rewind a week....Kelly started getting a cold last Friday.  This cold didn't slow her down though!  She still had a sleepover at a friends house, girl scouts, piano lessons, school, homework, etc.  On Wednesday after Ash Wednesday morning service, she told me her right ear hurt.  I looked at it, but didn't think much of it.  The rest of the day was normal.  (Sisters bickering all day, etc.)  Before bed, Kelly told me her right ear hurt again.  It is not like Kelly to complain about sickness.....normally, if she complains....she ends up with streap throat!  Anyway, I told her if it hurt in the morning, we would have to take her to the doctor.
So....she woke up crying and I knew I had to call the doctor.  Of course, it was Valentine's Day and Kelly had a small celebration at school (her Valentine's Day party was Tuesday because of Ash Wednesday and Lent) and Molly had her school Valentine's Party that I was helping at....and I was working at school too....and Kelly DOES NOT like to miss school!  So, we all headed to school.  Kelly had tylenol in her for the pain and I told her teacher.  I called the doctor and made an appointment for after school.  Kelly did ok in the morning but her teacher came to find me at lunch.  I talked to Kelly and she wanted to finish school....so I gave her more medicine (as it wore off) for the pain.  After school, we headed to Dubuque Pediatrics.  Just as expected, Kelly has an ear infection in her right ear.  (This is the third one in her life - the other two were January and April of 2007!)
Our family Valentine's Day tradition is to get a heart shaped pizza at Happy Joe's in Dyesrville.  Since we were in Dubuque, we asked the girls if there was somewhere else they would like to eat dinner.....but they ONLY wanted a heart shaped pizza in Dyesville at Happy Joe's!  So....after getting Kelly's medicine, we went back home.
***I think the girls enjoy traditions as much as their Mom!***

The pizza they were so excited about!
We hope everyone had a Happy Valentine's Day!

Molly's playdate with Paige

Molly had her first "real" play date with a friend from school today - Paige Fangman!
**Kelly was at a friends house too.....so Molly had the perfect afternoon to have her first friend over!**
It was so much fun hearing the giggles of these two 4 year olds!  Molly has been asking for a friend over for awhile now....as Kelly has SO MANY play dates/sleepovers with friends!  (Molly has had our library group, cousins, and our neighbor Lexi over....but not a friend alone.....without a Mom there!)

It was 3 hours of pure excitement for Molly Ann!
 Playing Princesses!
 Polly Pocket Wall Party!

 Great friends!
 Beauty shop!

***So much fun!!!***

FINALLY.....

....KELLY LOST HER FIRST TOOTH!!!

Kelly has been waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting for her first tooth to come out!  She is the last first grader at Xavier to lose a tooth.  She has had a couple loose for awhile but the last two weeks her bottom two have become REALLY LOOSE!  The past few days we have been waiting for it to happen....as the one tooth was hanging on with the smallest amount of gum possible.  (I wouldn't be surprised if the second bottom tooth falls out VERY soon as well!)

Kelly never wanted to wiggle it at home....as she REALLY wanted to lose her tooth at school.  She has had a lot of friends lose a tooth at school and they get a little treasure box to keep the tooth in to get it home safely.  The treasure boxes came in all the rainbow colors and she really wanted a purple treasure box (they don't have pink).  Since I work at school, the nurse knew Kelly's tooth was hanging there....so she gave me a treasure box in case it fell out at home.  Good thing......her tooth fell out after school today when she was wiggling it! :)

 We have one excited daughter....
.....that can't wait for the tooth fairy to come tonight!

Cookie Time!!!!

Today was the official start to Girl Scout Cookie Time!!!  Kelly has been so excited to see since we picked up the cookies on Wednesday!  Last year we sold 175 boxes.....

....her goal this year is 150 boxes!
(some of the families we sold to now have kids in girl scouts and they are selling too)

Kelly and I started selling at 9:30am this morning in Dyersville.....had a lunch break at home.....went around Dyersville a little longer.....then headed to Dubuque.

We went to all the family members houses and around our house.  We ended up selling 101 boxes today!  Only 49 to go......
