WI Family Vacation - What a week!!!!

We had our annual family vacation last week (Friday, July 16 - Friday, July 23). We had a great time! Kelly and Molly LOVED everything!!! (Yes, even Molly started to love the water and sand after a couple days)! Both girls had a great time at the zoo! The weather was perfect!!!! We had one rainy day and one cold morning....but other than that, is was gorgeous! We did have our share of "accidents" in our group this year.....which made things interesting......and crazy at times!
1. My uncle Gary fell off his bike while riding about 17 mph on a bike trail on Saturday morning (our first full day, went to the ER and found out that he broke his elbow/arm in 3 places. He went back to DBQ for surgery on Sunday and came back on Monday. What a trooper!!!
2. My nephew, Daniel (2.5 years old), was floating away from our resort....literally! (He had his lifejacket on...but I jumped in and swam to save him!) He rolled from his back to front to back on my way swimming to him!
3. Again....my nephew Daniel got "HOOKED" with a fish hook in his nose and had to go to the ER to get it removed! His brother Benjamin was casting and the rest is history!
4. Our boat died on Tuesday........
5. We came home Friday afternoon to water in our basement at home!!!!!

Kelly's BUTTERFLIES

Kelly got a live butterfly garden as part of the cousin Christmas gift exchange this year. We were waiting to "order" our butterflies until summer....so she could let them go outside....instead of watching them die. She got 10 caterpillars in the mail a couple weeks ago. Kelly has enjoyed watching the butterfly process....from caterpillars to making the cacoons, and then hatching into butterflies! Yesterday morning around 8am the first butterfly came out.....we checked about 15 minutes later and we had three butterflies!!! We had 9 out of 10 butterflies before lunch. Kelly is now enjoying picking flowers and spraying them with sugar water to feed her butterflies. She even put some watermelon in their "garden" today as it says the butterflies like watermelon and oranges. We will enjoy watching and feeding the butterflies this week. We are planning to let them go on Friday morning before we leave on our family vacation!

Kelly pointing to one of her beautiful butterflies!
Molly came running over once she saw I was taking pictures of her sister (a little jealousy in our house!) She stopped drinking her nighttime bottle, pulled a chair over by her sister, and climbed up on the table to get her picture taken with her sister and the butterflies!

Music in the Park

This afternoon we took the girls to Asbury's Music in the Park. We spent almost 3 hours there....and didn't spend a penny!!! That is my kind of a fun, family day! When you walk in, they give each child a bag with 10 free tickets to play all the games. Those 20 tickets lastest a long time! We didn't have to buy any extra....and our girls both left happy!!!
