Riding a tricycle at Papa's house

Kelly and I spent some time at my Dad and Jackie's house today. My dad has a tricycle and Kelly loved it.....her feet hit the pedals, but she didn't figure out how to pedal on her own. (She is getting a tricycle for her birthday so I'm sure she will figure it out fast). My dad has a little grabber stick and he pushed her from behind....she loved it!!

(She has goldfish crackers in her mouth and in one hand too....a multi-tasker already!!!)

Trip to MN 4/18-4/20

Brian, Kelly, and I went to MN this weekend to visit my brother and his family. We had a great weekend!!! On Friday we met up and the dads went to Cabela's and the moms and kids went to and outlet mall. I found a few good deals! :) The guys met up with us and we let Kelly and Benjamin play on the outside playground at the mall while we finished our shopping.
On Saturday, we went to Como Zoo in St. Paul. The kids LOVED IT!!!! We saw LOTS of animals....giraffes, zebras, monkeys, tigers, cougars, lions, seals, fish, and many more! They were also celebrating Earth Day at the zoo so they had tables set up for kids to paint their own flower pots. It was really neat and fun for the kids. Then they gave them seeds to plant flowers in there new painted pots!!!
On Sunday, we met up with Tracy (my college friend) and her family (Austin 2 1/2 & Ellie 10 months). We let the kids play and then went out to lunch. It was fun catching up and meeting her family.

Playing outside is FUN!!!

Here is Kelly playing outside with me this morning....in her new adorable hat that I got for $3.00 from Children's Place!!!

Potty, Potty, Potty!!!

We have been working with Kelly on potty training a lot lately. She DOES NOT like her diaper wet or dirty!!! That is when she takes her diapers off!!! (We only had one gross, icky mess...where she took her diaper off and it was dirty). Kelly seems to be understanding what going potty is now!!! :) She has gone on the potty 3 days in a row now!!! YEAH!!! The last two days have been at night before bedtime (around 8pm).....and then she has already gone this morning at 8:30am!!! I am so proud of her!!! Keep your fingers crossed....she is doing really well!!! She is almost 22 months (4/17)...so everyone says not to even try until they are 2 years old...but Kelly has shown an interest and I am ready to stop buying diapers!!!

A very SAD rainy day!

It's been awhile since I have put anything on my blog site. We have had a busy weekend. My great-grandma (Jackie's mom) passed away last Friday evening. She lived a full life...to the age of 86 years old! The wake was on Sunday and the funeral on Monday. Lots of family were it town, so we have been really busy! Yesterday was the first day that Kelly and I were home again....but we did leave to go to our weekly library program. Kelly slept a lot yesterday...I think she was catching up from the crazy, busy weekend.

Then comes today....a yucky RAINY day!!! Kelly wanted to go outside and play REALLY BAD!!! She had a lot of meltdowns because...in her words....

GO - SIDE - "WING"...which is swing, and MOM was said over and over and over again!!!

GO - SIDE - WING - MOM
Here is a picture of Kelly in our laundry room, pointing and looking out at her swing!!!

"I love playing outside!

Kelly LOVES being outside.....she always wants to "go" or "side"...which means:
MOMMY...LET'S GO PLAY OUTSIDE!!!
This morning we took a long walk...over an hour, came inside to watch Sesame Street....and then Kelly is ready to go outside again! So, we took her big ball outside and she had a great time! The weather is getting a lot better....but it's still windy and a little bit cold. It's supposed to be high 50's this weekend, so that will be wonderful! (You can see the little bit of snow that is left in our yard!)

Circus Funny Face Sundae!!

Grandma Murray came to visit Mommy and Kelly today in Dyersville. We had a fun morning....we went to the library for our weekly "Wee Read" program. I am going to miss 4 weeks of the program this summer and my mom (and maybe Brian's mom) might take Kelly to the program when I am working at Loras Sports Camp for those weeks. After the library, we went to Happy Joe's for lunch. We decided to get some ice cream and I told my mom that Kelly could just share with me....but of course, she had to buy Kelly her own sundae....a circus funny face. Kelly LOVED it....and ate almost the entire thing.

Grandma and Kelly with the circus funny face sundae....Kelly dug right in, licking the whip cream off the clowns ears!
" Yummy....this cone is tasty!"
Kelly loved the sundae!!!
