Kelly had her FIRST state meet tonight....and DASH hosted it! It was the 8 and under championship meet! Kelly swam 5 individual events and 1 relay! She brought home 4 MEDALS! She was pretty excited.....and we were so incredibly happy for her! She has now completed her first full year of competitive swimming.....and continues to improve....and really enjoys it!
Here are her events....and how she did....
100 Medley Relay - 1st place - STATE CHAMPIONS - 1:36.93
25 Breast - 4th place - 27.31 (her previous best was 29.14)
50 Breast - 4th place - 1:08.12 (her previous best was 1:10.18)
100 IM - 4th place - 2:20.97 (her previous best was 2:35.67)
25 Back - 10th place - 25.75 (her best is 25.16)
50 Back - DQ - her time was 54.42 (her previous best was 59.95)
(She was too far away from the wall on her backstroke turn...so she glided too long....which made her slower, not faster....but is still illegal...so she got disqualified. She dropped 5 seconds though....but her time will stay a 59.95)
Kelly did AMAZING!
We are very proud of her.....and she still has 11 months left in the 8 and under age group too!

Kelly was 10th place OVERALL for the high point award....out of 38 girls. They take the points you earn for all 5 individual events and combine them. Kelly got 10th....with just 4 events, since she was DQed in the 50 Back. That is amazing.....and we are so proud!
