A little over 5 years ago......

We were sooooooo excited to show our baby nursery to everyone!!!! Since we didn't know if I was pregnant with a boy or a girl, we designed the nursery in an ocean theme.

We had the room ready to go by the end of January, 2006.....and Kelly Marie Snyder was born on June 17, 2006.

When we were pregnant with Molly.....we moved Kelly's room to our old guest room....and left the nursery pretty much the same for Miss Molly!

Molly is our tall little girl.....and she has been ready for her big girl bed for awhile now. Her room has been a work in progress for a little over two months....off and on. This weekend was our BIG weekend on Molly's room. Her big girl bed is set up and ready for her to sleep in tonight! We still have a few things left......so stay tuned for Molly's new room pictures!
You can see the old trim and part of the Nutone box on the wall....the trim is now new, and the box is gone too.
The crib in taken apart and stored.
You can see at the bottom of this picture the old register.....that is now gone and Molly has a new floor register.

A couple things left to get for Molly's room.....
* get a rug!!!
* get two light switch covers
* get a new light fixture
* get a CD player
(Both my kids loved the mobile and would stand up and turn it on if they weren't asleep by the time the mobile stopped! Kelly still listens to music every night while she falls asleep. I'm surprised our mobile lasted 5 years!)

We still need to paint and caulk the trim one last time......and paint Molly's window too. The weather needs to cooperate to paint Molly's window!

Sooooooooooooo......stay tuned for pictures of Molly's new room soon!

Mississippi River Museum

The girls and I spent yesterday morning at the Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium with my Dad, Jackie, and Jessen!!! My Dad and Jackie have a grandparents pass for the year....so we only had to pay for me. The kids had a great time. They have expanded the museum since I have been there last.....which is great for the ages of my kids. The entire second floor of the new expansion is an indoor kids water play area....which they all LOVED! It was a fun morning!

The three kids in a CAVE!
Molly & Jessen loved watching all the fish.....they would have stayed there for a long time....but Kelly was ready to move on.

Planetarium Field Trip

Kelly had her THIRD preschool field trip this morning....we went to the Loras College Planetarium! They have been talking about SPACE the last two weeks at school. They have learned about all the planets including the newly discovered dwarf planets that are also in our solar system. They got to watch a video of the Discovery Launching and of astronauts floating in space and what they do for their missions. Kelly has learned a lot about outer space!

Kelly's class outside the Planetarium...it was built in 1964.
(It was really sunny so the kids were having a hard time looking into the sun!)
Daddy met us at the Planetarium too!
Kelly was excited to have Mommy & Daddy at her field trip!!!

Happy Birthday Papa Michael

Today is Papa Michael's birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

We celebrated yesterday at Mom and Michael's house. We spent the afternoon there.....the girls played and the adults got a card game in too!

Kelly doesn't think it's a birthday without balloons....so we stopped at the Dollar Tree first so the girls could pick out a couple birthday balloons for Papa. At the dollar store, Kelly found these "wind machines" as she likes to call them. They were really cute......both the girls got one and they got one for Papa too....since it was his birthday!

Papa, Molly, and Kelly trying out their "wind machines!"

Blowing out the candles.....with a little help from two little girls!

Both girls helped me decorate the cake!

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.........

The St.Patrick's Day Parade this afternoon was COLD!!!!!!!!!!!!
The kids had a great time though.....and got a lot of candy!!! They also got a toy from RC2 outlet, string cheese, chocolate milk, necklaces, bouncy balls, hostess treats, and can Koozies. We had 5 kids with us.

Jessen - 22 months, Molly - 2 years, Racquel - 3 years, Kelly - 4.5 years, & Helena - 4.5 years

Molly & Jessen all bundled up in the double stroller waiting for the parade to start.
Racquel, Helena, & Kelly bundled up in the wagon waiting for the parade to start.
The big girls are ready to start getting CANDY!
Jessen, Molly, & Kelly watching the parade.
Helena & Kelly were the troopers.....they made it almost the entire parade before getting cold!!!!
Molly lasted 10 minutes, Racquel about 30 minutes, Jessen around 45 minutes, and the two big girls about 55 minutes.....we were all bundled up ready to go when the last part of the parade went by. The kids came home to some hot chocolate and a piece of candy of their choice! Overall, a wonderful....YET COLD.....day!

Leprechaun Leap

This morning was Kelly's second St. Patrick's Day Leprechaun Leap! Dyersville goes all out for their St. Patty's Day Celebrations!!! Kelly had a great time again in her fun run! She was in the 3-6 age group. It was hard getting pictures of the actual run....as Kelly lost her hat (due to the extremely windy conditions) and I went back for it as she kept running.
Kelly in the gym waiting for the race to begin.
She's ready....hat, scarf, and gloves.....
She decided to put her coat on once she got outside....it was VERY cold!!!

My little HIDER.....

Molly has ALWAYS been my little hider! Lately, she is hiding her prized possessions (Elmo & Blanket)....and now.....her glasses! Her hiding spots are getting better and better too! It wouldn't be a problem if she REMEMBERED where she hid them!!! It took me an hour (off and on) to find her glasses while she napped! She hid them right before I put her down for a nap....while I was helping Kelly with a game on the computer.

Our Little People living room bay window. The girls set some of their little people on the window ledge to play with (for the winter!) Isn't it cute.....a princess castle, a fairy treehouse....
....a tent, and a house!
The girls were setting up all the Little People today.....Kelly really makes sure everyone is in their right places.....everything looks good, right?
Well....open up the tent and there are the missing glasses!!!!!!!!

I guess the Little People wanted to sleep under the stars to leave room for Molly's glasses to be safe!!!
