Spring Swim Lessons - Session 2

The girls finished up their second session of swim lessons today.  They both had a lot of fun!  The Herrig kids took lessons with us this session....Molly & Myles were in the same group and Kelly was with Madison & Ana.  It worked out great.....as Jen and I could talk (without minimal interruption) the entire swim lesson!  Molly & Myles ALWAYS seemed to have to go to the bathroom during swim lessons....and not at the same time!  Overall, it was fun for the Moms and kids!

Two 3 year olds - Myles & Molly were in tadpole
Ana, Kelly, and Madison were all in jellyfish together
Taylor trying to convince Molly to put her face in the water!!!  Molly would blow bubbles great, but doesn't want to get her eyes wet.  It took a lot of convincing....
....and she would then do it ONCE....but whined & cried and wiped the water away quickly!
Trying again!  She would just LOOK at the water forever...
....so we tried goggles....but she still doesn't want to put her face in the water!
She LOVED every other part of lessons....kicking...
....swimming with big arms...
...and backstroke.
As long as it didn't involve getting her eyes wet....SHE LOVED IT!

Hugs for TITTLE!!!
Kelly continued to work on her freestyle.  It improved, but we have to keep working on her breathing.
Here she is one of the first lessons (there were 8 total this session)....and they have both had 16 lessons within the last 2.5 months.  She was getting her entire head out of water to breathe.
Getting ready to breathe....
...and breathing.  Her head didn't come out as far as when she started.  She is improving....and doing great!  She's not even 6 years old yet!!!
Kelly LOVES backstroke!
**Kelly swam at least 4 lengths - 25 yards each - of both backstroke and freestyle at every lesson!
Diving!  She really improved her diving these two sessions of lessons.

Kindergarten Field Trip - Swiss Valley

Kelly went on her big Kindergarten Field Trip today!  All the Xavier Kindergartners went to Swiss Valley Nature Preserve in Dubuque in the morning/early afternoon, and then went to FarmTek in Dyersville in the later afternoon.  I was able to go along to Swiss Valley for the first part of the field trip (the second part of the field trip I took Molly to the eye doctor). The kids all had a lot of fun!  It was very interesting and at times I felt like I was back in elementary school science class! :)
The kids started off by going through the Nature Center.  They were able to see some live animals and look at (and touch) a lot of things.
 Touching various items
 Kelly liked the turtle shells
They put their hands in to see if they could guess what they were touching!

Cousins

The Mulgrew and Snyder kids enjoyed playing together over the weekend....cousins are always so much fun!
Daniel (4), Matthew (1), Kelly (5.5), Molly (3), Ben (6)
Molly & Daniel playing their leapsters together early in the morning
Sunday morning movie time with Grandma Peggy!
Molly & Daniel played really well together.  Here they are playing a song for us!  Molly on guitar & Daniel on drums!
Daddy pulling Molly......this was how we got a patch on her one morning.  It was HARD to get her to wear her patch over the weekend.
 Swinging in the backyard
Uncle Brian took Kelly on her FIRST motorcycle ride....they went VERY SLOW!
Kelly was a little hesitant, but overall she thought her couple laps around the yard were fun!
 Kelly with her godfather!
Molly took a bunch of laps around the yard with Daniel in the Jeep Power Wheels.  She LOVED it!  I wish I knew what this conversation was about, but it probably went something like this...
"Don't drive too fast!" :)  Molly is hesitant with new things!
The older 4 cousins.  I LOVE this picture!!!
