Pool fun!

Our neighbors filled their little pool.....and the four girls had a great afternoon swimming!

Snow Cones!

Kelly asked for a snow cone maker for her birthday......and she received it from Grandma Pat and Papa Tom!  We tried it out for the first time today....and it was a hit!!!

Grandma Peggy's Birthday

We celebrated Grandma Peggy's birthday today!

(Her birthday is Monday, July 7)

We grilled out for supper, played a couple games of Monopoly Empire, had brownies with M&M brownie ice cream for birthday treats, had a bonfire, and ended with smores!

Art Wall

Kelly received these cafe rods/hooks from Grandma Peggy and Papa Michael for her 8th birthday!  Anyone who knows Kelly, knows how much she LOVES arts and crafts!  When we painted her room last year, we knew we would do something with this corner of her room.  Grandma found the perfect rods.....that match her white trim....and have pink sparkles and feathers on the ends!  Adorable!  She displayed a few of her favorite pieces of art now.....but there is a lot more room for amazing artwork from our budding artist!

3rd of July

We spent the evening at Dyersville Commercial Club Park.  The girls enjoyed all the games, rides, and activities.  The fireworks were wonderful too!  A nice, family evening to celebrate the holiday!

Molly's GLAMOUR Day!

Molly was asked by her friend, Ava, to have a little girls glamour day!  Molly was so excited to have some fun, girly time with a couple of her friends!!!

 These two sat and chit-chatted for a long time while Ava was finishing getting her hair done.  It was so cute!!!!  I wish I could hear what they were saying!

 After the girls were glamored up, and we took some pictures, the girls enjoyed smoothies at Groovy Grounds!  A perfect couple of hours for these best friends!

Kelly's Swim Meet

Kelly had her second swim meet for the summer season. (Her first one was in Cedar Rapids on May 10).  This was a mid-week triangular hosted by DASH.  The Cedar Falls, Davenport, and Dubuque club swim teams swam against each other.  Kelly did AMAZING!  She swam three individual events and two relays.  Since this was a triangular meet, it was mixed boys and girls.  (Normally she only swims against other 8 and under girls).  

Both races Kelly got 2nd place in....the same boy from Davenport beat her!

Here is how she did.....

25 Breast - 29.16 - 2nd place

(her best was 29.14 in Cedar Rapids in May)

25 Back - 25.16 - 2nd place

(her previous best was 26.82 so she dropped over a second!)

25 Fly - 30.87 - 4th place

(her previous best was 35.57 so she dropped 5 seconds!)

**Kelly's next (and final) swim meet for the summer season is July 19 - the 8 and under championship meet!  Each athlete gets to swim 5 individual events and up to two relays.  Should be a fun finish to her first full year of competitive swimming!**
