Summer Days...

The girls have enjoyed lots of summer days playing in the pools and sprinklers!  Kelly, Lexi, and Molly had fun on this HOT day playing in the sprinkler ball.  Molly isn't a huge fan of the sprinkler as she DOES NOT LIKE to get water in her face!  ...so Brian got the little pool out as well!

 We started patching Molly's eye again today....we have 7 weeks to patch her until we see the pediatric eye specialist again in August.  She did a great job adjusting to her new glasses! :)  I made a chart for Molly to have a little incentive to wear her patch.  She needs to wear it for 4-6 hours a day.  She wore it from 9:20am until 2:05pm today....when she went outside to play in the pool/sprinkler!  She did fuss a little bit and wanted to take it off multiple times.....but we got in over 4.5 hours today...so it was a good start!  She didn't want to wear her glasses with the patch...so we'll have to see how that goes.  She gets a little prize for wearing it three days...and then four days....five days....etc.  Pray that it starts to work and/or we are able to get some more answers on August 22 when we go back to the doctor.

Grandma Peggy's Birthday

We celebrated Grandma Peggy's birthday on her REAL BIRTHDAY!  The girls were excited to be a part of Grandma's special day!  They were both able to sing to her three times (on the phone in the morning, at the restaurant, and with cupcakes at our house that evening!)  We went out to eat and came home to yummy cupcakes!  After the girls went to bed, the adults were able to play a game of Domino's.  It was a fun evening.  Happy Birthday, Mom!

 Molly made a card with LOTS of stickers on it....and spent a lot of time writing GRANDMA PEGGY on the front.  We are really working on her letters!

 We went to a new restaurant - The General Store in Anamosa.....the waitress gave the girls some bread to feed the fish off the back deck of the restaurant.  The girls thought it was really neat!

4th of July

 We had a great time celebrating on the 4th of July with the Salow family in Earlville.  We grilled out and the kids played a lot of games!  We didn't stay for the fireworks as our kids were VERY TIRED!

3rd of July

Our normal July 3 festivities were slightly different this year....due to the CRAZY heat!!! We still enjoyed our time at Commercial Club Park!  The girls chose not to get ride bracelets this year as they didn't want to jump in the bounce houses and go on hot rides in this hot weather!  (I wouldn't have wanted to bounce around and get ANY hotter either!)  Instead we played some games, ate Mr. Freezies, and listened to the music......and we were still HOT!  The fireworks were beautiful....Kelly truly enjoyed them....but Molly fell asleep!

Jumpin Janes

We got out of the heat for a few hours yesterday as the girls enjoyed an afternoon at Jumpin Janes with some of their cousins!

DAISY Girl Scouts

Kelly enjoyed her first year in girl scouts.....as a DAISY!  She will be a Daisy next year as well.  Her favorite part was selling girl scout cookies, day camp, seeing her 6th grade big sister at large events, ice cream social, Halloween party, etc.  She loved earning all her daisy petals this year too!  Next year they work on their journey...and earn patches for the bottom pocket....as well as all the fun ones on the back too!
