We had Kelly's pictures taken a professional studio in Dyersville for her First Communion.  They turned out absolutely beautiful!  Here are my four favorites!

Last Day of School

Today was the last day of school for the girls!

Kelly completed second grade and Molly completed 4 year old preschool!

 **Next year we will have a third grader and a Kindergartner!!!**

Dyersville Blue vs. Green

Kelly's softball team played against the Dyersville Green team tonight.  It's always fun when two Dyersville teams play against each other....as so many of the girls know each other.  The Dyersville Blue team WON 20-12!  Way to go girls!!!

**Kelly is in the 1st/2nd grade softball league so she is the older grade this year.  Dyersville has three teams and they have 12 total teams in their league.  They play multiple Epworth and Farley teams along with Key West, Sherrill and Peosta.

Memorial Day Camping

We met up with my two college swimming roommates and their families for our first camping trip together.  The weather was BEAUTIFUL, and the company was even better!  It was a lot of fun to see all the kids play together and get along.....as they haven't all been together in over 5 years!

Art Enrichment

Kelly participated in an Art Enrichment program for the first semester of this school year.  Ms. Recker (the art teacher) picked two students in each grade (2nd-6th) to participate in this optional program....for a total of 10 students each semester.  They met once a week before school on Tuesdays in the art room.  Ms. Recker gave them some instructions and they needed to complete their art work, in their sketchbook, before the next weeks session together.  Kelly loves everything about art, crafts, etc. so this was wonderful for her!

Ms. Recker had an art show after church for these 20 students.  Unfortunately, we were unable to attend as we were going camping in Rock Island, IL that weekend.  Kelly and I stopped in the church basement after school on Friday to see the display.

Art Enrichment is a program for the artistically talented kids of Xavier.  They are given a drawing assignment, which is done outside of school, and these are shared with the group each week.

We are proud of our amazing artist!!!!

2nd Grade Field Trip

I was able to attend Kelly's field trip today.  We went to the Grout Museum District in Waterloo, Iowa.  It was a science/social studies based field trip.  The kids all had a great time....and the day went by very fast!  We explored two of the buildings.....the Museum of History and Science AND the Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Memorial.

Jellystone

We went to the Bagley, Wisconsin Jellystone park for a 2 night camping weekend....to wake up the BEARS!  This is the second year we have gone (it's a buy one, get one night free weekend).  Last year we went with the Salow family and this year the Clark family joined us too!  The weather was nice....no rain...the sun was out each day....yet it was cool in the mornings and at night!  We used the heater in our camper for the first time!

***Originally, it was a pool party.....but it was too cold for the pool....so it was a dance party!***

 Kelly and Lexi danced the entire 1 hour.....as they said the best dancers get a prize from Yogi!  It started with about 20 kids.....but only these two danced for the whole hour without stopping!

 Molly tired out after about 20 minutes of dancing and asked me to take her back to the camper as she wanted to take a nap.....and she fell right asleep!
