Kelly is enjoying her second season of Dyersville Soccer - she moved up into the 1st/2nd grade league this year....so she is one of the youngest on the team.  That doesn't stop her....as she gets right in there with the rest of the kids!  She truly enjoys soccer!

Molly's first day of preschool

Today was Molly's 1st day of 3 year old preschool!!!  She was so excited to go to school, like her big sister Kelly!  She will be attending the 3 year old preschool at Xavier on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00-3:15pm.  I had an outfit all ready for Molly to wear....but she decided she didn't want to wear it and would ONLY wear her Tinkerbell outfit.....so here is my adorable 3 year old...

1st Grade

Kelly started FIRST GRADE today!!!!  She is growing up so fast!  She was so ready to go back to school....it should be a great school year!

Kelly had her first game in the older league today.  She moved up to the 1st/2nd grade league....where they have actual referees (instead of coaches).  She is the youngest on her team of 15 kids....but she truly LOVES soccer!

Bonding with a Purpose

This is my 14th season as the Head Coach for the Wahlert Catholic Swimming and Diving Team.  We have ALWAYS had a team-building day.....whether going to Noah's Ark, Four Mounds Ropes Course, Mines of Spain, or many others......this year surpassed all of them!  My team used some money from our club account to purchase food to make a meal for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Iowa City.  The captains bought all the ingredients and I split up the 3 Wahlert vehicles into teams of 7 girls....separating close friends and making sure all ages were in each suburban.  The girls had a great time while giving back to others.  After we finished at the Ronald McDonald house we went to the new University of Iowa Pool for a quick swim, followed by a Scavenger Hunt on campus.  It was a great team-building day!

Sleepover!

Kelly had her second friend sleep-over at our house!  (She had Maria in May).  Kelly was excited to have Cambrie spend the night....since she has been able to sleep over at Cambrie's house TWO TIMES already!  The girls decided to sleep in the living room while so they could get all snuggled in while watching a movie.

Camp LIttle Cloud

Kelly had a wonderful day with the Dyersville Girl Scouts at CAMP LITTLE CLOUD!  Her day was filled with creek stomping, a scavenger hunt, swimming, crafts, swap fest, and Water Olympics....just to name a few!  The weather was perfect and she had SO MUCH FUN!  When I asked her what her 3 favorite things were she couldn't stop at three things......she named everything!!!

Kelly's NEW pink blanket

Kelly has loved, loved, LOVED her purple blanket that Grandma Peggy made for her when she was a baby.  It has been washed SO MANY TIMES!  You might remember previous posts (a long time ago) where Kelly would cry the entire time her blanket was being washed.  She would sit in the laundry room and be SO UPSET the entire washing and drying cycles.  She has taken her blanket on EVERY trip we have ever been on.....and more recently taken it to multiple friends houses for sleepovers.  Her blanket is VERY LOVED!  Grandma Peggy (along with Kelly's help) picked out some new pink material.....the same as her other blanket....and Grandma spent LOTS of time making Kelly a new blanket.....in her favorite colors.....and larger too!  Kelly LOVES it.....but she isn't quite ready to give up her purple one.......yet!  I hope she can fully transition soon.....and I can wash and pack away her purple blanket.....to show her some day how much is was really LOVED!

Skate Park

Kelly received roller blades as a Christmas present....she has used them at Skate Country three times and we decided to switch her stopper (you have to have gray for skate country and black for outside) and go try them at the skate park down the street.  She had so much fun with the neighbor kids at the Skate Park.
