Sesame Street LIVE

Today was Molly's first "Big girl FUN day!" It was the first time Molly got to do something special, without her big sister. We took Kelly to Sesame Street Live in Cedar Rapids just before she turned two years old. (When my Mom still lived in Cedar Rapids). Conveniently, Sesame Street live was in Dubuque right before Molly is going to turn TWO...so today was Molly's fun day! MOLLY LOVED IT!!!!! She was mesmorized by all the characters.....especially Abby, Elmo, Ernie, and Big Bird. Abby got REALLY CLOSE to us at one point, and the entire rest of the show Molly said "Abby, are you!?!?" She kept looking for Abby! Good thing she is having an Abby Cadabby birthday party next weekend! Here are a few pictures....

This was one of the rare times she wasn't mesmorized by the entire show and actually was smiling....and Grandma was too!!!! (Grandma has been really sick lately...and still is....her grandkids are the only people that can get Grandma to smile!)

It was such a fun afternoon! It's great seeing it through the eyes of an almost two year old!

It's still FALL....

TODAY! It was a rainy, yucky weekend but the weather was nice when we picked Kelly up from school today! We had a front yard FULL of leaves....so we decided to rake them into a big pile! Kelly wanted friends to play in the leaves with so she asked Lexi and Logan (our neighbors) and the other kids (there mom does in-home daycare) if they would come play with her! The kids had fun....and played until it was dark outside!

It's been a bit of a struggle this morning....I can't even get close to getting a picture of her wearing them without her ripping them off!!!!! She is wearing them for 10-15 minute stretches, but it's hard getting them back on her......hopefully she gets better as the day/weekend continues.

My birthday.....

My birthday has always fallen on the week of the Iowa state swim/dive meet.....when I was swimming in high school and now when I coach high school swimming and diving. This year it was the ACTUAL day of the state swimming portion of the meet. We fibbed a little bit to Kelly saying my birthday was Sunday (vs. Saturday)....as birthdays are special to Miss Kelly!

On Saturday while I was at the meet.....Kelly and Grandma Peggy made me a special Cookies and Cream cake for us to celebrate my birthday on Sunday.

Preschool Halloween PARTY

Kelly had her preschool Halloween party last week (Wed. 11/27)! I was one of the parent volunteers....it was so much fun to see the kids all dressed up! They got to walk around to some of the "big kid" classrooms to show off their costumes, played four different games with prizes, passed out treat bags to all their friends, played in the "haunted house", and ended with a yummy cupcake and juice box! What a fun afternoon!
